CASE - Silverstone PS08B (Black) MicroATX Mid Tower Case USB 3.0 - $34.90
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Quick note: I know there was $600 gaming pc just recently on front page, but I felt obliged to post this seeing as you can get a massive performance boost for the same price. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A case is pretty much the least important part of the PC. All it needs to be able to do is house the components, keep decent airflow, and have USB 3.0 at the front if you really want it. It's really not worth spending much on it unless you want it looking nicer.
MOTHERBOARD - Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 Micro ATX AM3+ - $54.99
Again, a motherboard is important but it won't contribute to the performance of the PC. This one here still has 4 ram slots, capable of holding up to 32GB's of ram, usb 3.0, and really all the essential features you might need.
AMD FX-8300 3.3GHz 8-Core Processor - $109.99
Yes, this is an AMD CPU. Why? At $110 it's half the price any i5 or i7 of the same performance, and cheaper than a weaker i3. This processor is capable of reaching over 60 fps in any recent game on ultra settings if paired with a strong GPU. Also if you have the extra $30 or $50 I'd recommend getting an fx-8320 or fx 8350.
For those saying that an FX-8300 has bad performance, let me clarify.
Yes, recent i5's and i7's will perform much, much better. They also cost upwards of $200. And yes, more cores does not mean better, but the fx-8300 is still perfectly capable of ultra. For $110 this is the best processor you can get for the money.
Many seem to be suggesting the i3 6100. It's a bit more expensive ($124.99) and if you take a look here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLkaNWo0EV0) you can see that the i3 and fx are pretty similar in gaming, with each being a bit better at different games. The i3 DOES Provide a better upgrade future though, so it's up to you really. You'll need a different mobo than the one in this post for the i3 however.
GRAPHICS CARD OPTION ONE- MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GT OC Video Card - $249
The most expensive item from the whole build is the graphics card. This does most of the work during a game, so you shouldn't cheap out on something as important as this. The 1060 is a good balance for the f-8300 and will handle any recent releases on ultra for a while to come.
GRAPHICS CARD OPTION TWO - Gigabyte Radeon RX 480 8GB Video Card - $239.99
The RX 480 8gb edition is very similar to the GTX 1060, except it has 2-4gb's extra vram (depending on the 1060 model), and is a tiny bit cheaper. It doesn't really matter what one you want to go with. The RX 480 has a lower raw benchmark value than the 1060, but in-game it performs very similarly. http://pcpartpicker.com/product/CpH48d/gigabyte-radeon-rx-480-8gb-video-card-gv-rx480d5-8gd-b
RAM - Team Dark 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory - $56.99
16GB's of ram will last you a while, and 8GB's can be lacking in some recent AAA titles (such as BF1). Also 1600mhz is perfectly fine. Faster ram does perform a bit better, but it comes at a much greater cost.
Thermaltake SMART 650W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply - $54.30
650 watts will easily power the GTX 1060 or the RX 480 and the FX-8300. It will also support any future upgrades you might like to add to your PC.
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive - $47.49
Most people seem to prefer SSD's, but on a tight budget they're really not worth the extra money. You'll get a faster boot speed, but you'll be short on space in no time and you won't notice any difference in game performance. 1tb will last much longer, and it's still fairly fast at 7200rpm. If you're really desperate for an SSD you can spend a tiny bit more and get one with a 240GB capacity.

Ultra will only work at 1080p or below. Once you start going 1440p or 4k you'll need to bump down the settings.
This is purely the PC, no OS or accesories.
